Get ready to discover the beauty of winter birds in a cosy outdoor setting – it’s going to be a wild and wondrous experience!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Celebrate World Wetlands Day 2026 with LAWPRO (Local Authority Waters Programme) on a guided walk to discover the birds of The Murrough Wetlands SAC (Special Area of Conservation) at Newcastle, Co. Wicklow. Spend a couple of hours seeing and learning about the wonderful avian winter visitors to our shores that rely on the critically important wetland habitats along the Wicklow coastline. This walk will be led by Cian Cardiff (ornithologist and expert bird guide) and Justin Ivory (LAWPRO Community Water Officer for Wicklow& DLR).<\/p>\n

What:\u00a0<\/strong>Guided walk along The Murrough SAC at Newcastle and East Coast Nature Reserve<\/p>\n

When:\u00a0<\/strong>Monday 2nd February 2026<\/p>\n

Time:<\/strong>\u00a010am to 12pm<\/p>\n

Where:\u00a0<\/strong>Meeting at bottom of Sea Road, Newcastle<\/p>\n

This is a free event but registration is required. Please note this is an outdoor event on rough and uneven ground. Please bring suitable footwear and weather appropriate clothing. Children must be accompanied by an adult.<\/p>\n
