Ramsar Sites in Ireland
A total of 45 sites have been identified as Ramsar sites in Ireland. These are wetlands that are of significant value for nature.
All site-specific information is provided on https://rsis.ramsar.org, the central depository of Ramsar Site information.
A site information update process is currently concluding. Twelve updated sites so far have been published and the rest will be published in their updated form over the next few months. As the updated sites are published, these updates will be presented below. Sites currently published below in their updated form are: Blackwater Estuary, Dundalk Bay, Broadmeadow Estuary, Ballymacoda, Ballycotton Bay, Easky Bog, Lough Barra Bog, Knockmoyle/Sheskin, Cork Harbour, Baldoyle Bay, Castlemaine Harbour, Clara Bog.
